Working Paper 14: Food Safety and Quality Standard
In May 2011, the Government of Myanmar organized the first national-level workshop on rural development and poverty alleviation, and articulated a National Strategy on Poverty Alleviation and Rural Development (NSPARD). This strategy called for focusing efforts on eight strategic priority areas: i) agricultural production; ii) livestock and fisheries; iii) rural productivity and cottage industries; iv) micro-savings and credit enterprises; v) rural cooperatives; vi) rural socio-economy; vii) rur al renewable energy; and viii) environmental conservation.
