Application of biodigester technology for treatment of animal excreta at households in Ha Giang province

Within the frame work of BIODIVA Project funded by CIRAD of France a sub-project was implemented in several districts of Ha Giang to promote application of biodigester technology for treatment of animal excreta and production of biogas as cooking fuel at households. The project started with a field survey to understand livestock production systems and to examine household¿s conditions for biodigester installation. The main component of the project was to build demo and follow-up biogas plants and to provide trainings to construction workers and farmers. At the completion of the project 9 demo biogas systems was built with 100% financial and technical supports from the project whereas 97 follow-up biogas plants received technical supports and financial assistants. The project had also provided trainings to 32 construction workers and 88 farmers on biodigester technology at household levels.
