Efficient protoplast isolation towards an adapted culture protocol for cotton (Gossypium sp.)
The media composition for successful cotton (Gossypium sp.) protoplast isolation and cultivation was determined through systematic investigation of all the components of each culture medium. A set of orthogonal design experiments was used to verify the effect of each compound of the initial medium alone and in conibination with other compounds. This allowed defining the optimum compositiono of the media needed to successfully cultivate protoplasts through différent culture stages.
