Marjoram extract prevents ischemia reperfusion-induced myocardial damage and exerts anti-contractile effects in aorta segments of male wistar rats
[Ethnopharmacological relevance] Marjoram (Origanum majorana L.) is an herb traditionally used as a medicine in different countries, as Morocco and Iran, because of its beneficial cardiovascular effects. Some studies suggest that these effects are due, at least in part, to the presence of phenolic compounds such as rosmarinic acid (RA) and luteolin.
