Follow-Up to UNCED/Agenda 21: Progress Report of the CGIAR Task Force

Report of the CGIAR Task Force established at the 1993 Mid Term Meeting to develop proposals for sharpening the CGIAR's response to Agenda 21. The Task Force identifies seven topics and one particular activity in which CGIAR capacities and expertise could serve Agenda 21, and discusses possible organizational and funding arrangements to implement them. The seven topics (each described in a brief annex) are grouped into three as follows: marginal and degraded lands, conservation of genetic resources, and integrated pest management. The proposed activity is the use of geographic information systems technology (GIS) to support work on each topic.Agenda document, CGIAR Mid Term Meeting, May 1994.
