Role of Advanced Institutions in the Work of the CGIAR
One of six papers submitted by TAC for discussion at ICW95 as part of the process of revising CGIAR priorities and strategies. This one deals with the potential for collaboration between the IARCs and advanced research institutions (ARIs) encompassing public and private institutions and universities, both national and international. The paper discusses TAC's intention to raise the efficiency and level of knowledge sharing between ARIs and IARCs, and the approaches TAC may use in determining the relative comparative advantages between them. It favors partnership arrangements, when problems of intellectual property do not prejudice the delivery of final products to developing countries.Agenda document at CGIAR International Centers Week, October - November 1995.
