Combatting the cassava green mite

The devastation caused by the cassava green mite, which was accidentally introduced into Africa in the early 1970s, is now to be tackled by a pan-African campaign. The Handbook on the cassava green mite (Mononychellus tanajoa) in Africa, produced by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), is part of an attempt to train collaborators at a national level in the techniques of biological control as part of this initiative.
