Digital transformation improves the quality and efficiency of healthcare through the collection of information and its suitable use in decision-making at all levels of the health system. Many countries in Latin America have a unique opportunity to begin or renew this process of a digital transformation through the implementation of electronic health records (EHR). This document gathers lessons learned and success stories in EHR implementation and digital health transformation shared by regional allies and experts from around the world during the Inter-American Development Bank’s Regional Policy Dialogue hosted by the Social Protection and Health Division in 2018 in Washington, DC.
