Synthesis of OVE Evaluations of Bank Action for Private Sector Development
This report (RE-287) briefly summarizes the main points arising out of the Office of Evaluation and Oversight's evaluations of Bank actions in private sector development over the past three years. It seeks to pinpoint the principal strategic issues in earlier OVE papers that go beyond assessment of the impact of activities in specific areas. Chapter 1 briefly outlines the private sector context over the past decade and the principal trends observed in each of the different evaluation reports. This is supplemented, in Chapter 2, by a summary of points of agreement found in the aforementioned evaluations. The report concludes with a short review of a number of findings from the study of evaluations and analyses of best practices in strategic planning.
