Meloidogyne exigua (Meloidogynidae) in rubber tree clones at different times of the year

Meloidogyne exigua Goeldi (Nematoda: Tylenchida: Meloidogynidae), has become important for rubber tree plantations, so the objective of this work was to monitor its infestation in rubber tree plantations and later to perform the spatial distribution of the population in the roots of clones GT 1 and RRIM 600 , without identification of the rootstock, in two seasons of 2013. The experiment was located in the municipality of Itiquira, MT, at the geographic coordinates of 17o17'40,29 "and 17o26'17,73" south latitude and 54o44'28 , 6 "and 54o44'43.55" west longitude. In May, 264 samples were collected and in November 227 samples were collected in the total area of 6,646 hectares planted with 22 clones, used for interpolation by the kriging method. For the two clones evaluated were 55 points in May (clone GT 1 = 29 and RRIM 600 = 26 samples) and 52 samples in November (clone GT 1 = 27 and RRIM 600 = 25 samples), in a total area of 2,409 hectares. With a GNSS device, each sampling point was identified, and roots of the rubber tree were collected at 0.10 m depth. For the root analysis, the methodology of Coolen and D'Herde (1972) was used. Infestations in May, in both clones, were higher than in November. The Spatial Dependency Index (FDI) for May and November 2013 were moderate.
