Biocommercial characteristic and feeding of vimba in the southeastern part of the Gulf of Riga

The data on vimba catch distribution by the collective fisheries of the Latvian SSR for the 1974-1975 period are given. Commercial stock is defined by the size-weight and age composition. Characteristic of the seasonal feeding of different size and age vimba foraging in the southern part of the Gulf of Riga is given. It was revealed that the vimba commercial stock of 1974-1975 was predominantly composed of 7-9 years old species. The character of feeding of the vimba stock in the growing period is a little changeable depending upon the season of the year, size and age. Mollusks make up the basis of its food.
