Biodiversity of Lake Victoria: its conservation and sustainable use. (The Ugandan version).
Lake Victoria, is important as a source of fish, clean water, an avenue for transport and inscientific study. The native fishery of the lake has collapsed, fish species diversitydecreased and the environment of the lake deteriorated due to human activities. A LakeVictoria Environmental Management Project (LVEMP) was designed to realise a healthyand varied ecosystem of Lake Victoria which is inherently stable and capable ofsupporting, in a sustainable way the many human activities in the lake and its basin.
