Granulometric composition of the Azov sea bottom sediments
Based on the studies conducted in 2006-2015 we have analyzed grain-size fraction structure of the upper layer of the bottom sediments in the Azov Sea by laser diffraction method. Sediment supply, conditions of formation of particle size distribution of bottom sediments and the benthos productivity have been considered and their role is assessed. The role of bottom sediments in the formation of oxygen deficiency in the near-bottom layer has been shown.
