Study on sturgeon fishes with Statistical and Biological data

In the present research experiments were conducted to evaluate the Sturgeons Stocks in south part of the Caspian Sea (Iranian side) by measuring different parameters such as CPUE, length, age, weight, sex, caviar weight. The biological sampling were collected from 9 commercial landing center that were selected by clustering analysis. The total catch was estimated from the linear regration between flesh weight to total weight , catch per unite effort was estimated expressed in kg/day/100 gillnets, The changes in the sex combination and the average of length , weight , sex and the caviar rate of different species was discussed. 855 tons of sturgeons were caught in the Iranian waters of the Caspian Sea and 92.5 tons of caviar was harvested during 2000. The total sturgeon catch was comprised of 472 tons of A. persicus, 201 tons of A. stellatus, JOS tons of H. huso, 48 tons of A, gueldenstaedtii and about 31.8". tons of A, nudiventris. The relative abundance index of populations or catch per unit effort (CPU) for A. gueldenstaedtii, A. persicus, A. nudiventris and A. stellatus were 0.285, 2.296, 0.089, 2,941 kg respectively. When compared to figures obtained for the previous year figures for A, persicus show an increase while those for the other species have declined. Mature female specimens were prevalent. The number of mature females belonging to A. stellatus, A, persicus, A. gueldenstaedtii A. nudiventris and H. huso were 74.7%, 71.8%, 80%, 51.3%, 67.4% respectively. The catch. The average calculated. 14 % gueldenstaedtii, 8 total body weight. percentage of unmature females increased in the total of the gonosornatic ratio of the mature female were for A. stellatus, II % for A, persicus 9 % for A. % for A. nudiventris and 2.8 % for H. huso from the total body weight.
