Medidas corporais de ovinos deslanados da raça Santa Inês.

Resumo: A altura da cernelha (CER), altura da garupa (GAR), comprimento corporal (COM), circunferencia toracica (CIR) e peso vivo foram tomadas em borregos Santa Ines da Embrapa-Caprinos. As medidas foram efetuadas do desmame aos 11 meses. Os dados foram agrupados em 3-5 meses, 6-8 meses e 9-11 meses. Houve efeito do sexo da cria (p<0,05) apenas no grupo de 9-11 meses. O tipo de nascimento afetou todas as medidas, em todos os grupos (p<0,01). As correlacoes entre CER, GAR, COM, CIR e peso vivo foram, respectivamente de 0,89; 0,88; 0,93; e 0,90. Os coeficientes de correlacao entre as medidas corporais e peso, em relacao a idade do borrego, apresentaram tendencia crescente, indicando que os animais nao chegaram a maturidade. O COM e CIR foram responsaveis, juntos, por 90% da variacao no peso, fornecendo o melhor indicador do peso. [Body measurements from birth to 11 months of age in Santa Inês hair sheep breed]. Abstract: The withers height (CER), rump height (GAR), body length (COM), toraxic circumference (CIR) and live weight were taken in Santa Inês lambs of Embrapa-Caprinos. The measurements were taken from the weaning to 11 months of age. The data were grouped in 3-5 months, 6-8 months and 9-11 months. The effect of lamb sex was significant (p<0.05) only in the 9-11 months group. The birth type affected all measurements, in every group (p<0.01). The correlations between CER, GAR, COM, CIR and live weights were, respectively, 0.89, 0.88, 0.93 and 0.90. The correlation coefficients between body measurements and weight according to lambs age showed increasing trends, indicating that the animals did not reach maturity. The COM and CIR were responsable, together, by 90% of weight variation, being the more appropriated weight estimator.
