'BRS Pitanga': new dry bean variety of the small purple group.

BRS Pitanga is a new dry bean [Phaseolus vulgaris] cultivar of the small purple commercial group released for cultivation in the State of Goias and the Federal District in Brazil. The cultivar has an erect plant growth habit, and is resistant to 4 pathotypes (55, 89, 95 and 43) of the causal agents of anthracnose (Colletotrichum lindemuthianum), to rust and to bean common mosaic virus.
