Cenários de mudanças climáticas e variações do balanço hídrico do Distrito Federal.

RESUMO - O presente trabalho analisou a evapotranspiração potencial (ETP) mensal calculada utilizando o método de Thornthwaite e o balanço hídrico climatológico (BH) de duas estações meteorológicas localizadas no Distrito Federal, comparando-as com os valores normais e com os valores estimados pelos cenários A2 e B2 do IPCC (Painel Intergovernamental sobre Mudanças Climáticas). As comparações indicam o aumento da ETP mensal, em decorrência do aumento de temperatura projetado nos cenários futuros. A principal alteração observada no BH foi o aumento do período de deficiência hídrica nos cenários futuros quando comparados com os valores normais. Tais alterações podem ser significativas no planejamento agrícola da região do Distrito Federal. ABSTRACT - This study analyzed the monthly potential evapotranspiration (ET) calculated using the Thornthwaite method and the water balance (WB) of two meteorological stations located at the Federal District, comparing them to the normal values, and to the estimates of the IPCC?s (Intergovernmental Panel on Climatic Change) scenarios A2 and B2. The comparisons showed an increase of the ET due to the temperature projections. The main change observed in the WB comparisons was the increase of the period with water deficiency, when compared to the climatic normal. These changes are significant for the agriculture planning at the Federal District region. Keywords: Water balance, climatic change, Federal District.
