Growth of the specialty coffee industry.

The advent of speciality coffees in the USA (including the sale of coffee by country of origin and the rise in popularity of darkroasts and blends), developments in distribution channels for them, their impact on roasting practices, and the potential for future expansion are discussed. The role of the Specialty Coffee Association of America is outlined.
