Weed watch : Paspalum vaginatum in golf courses.

During 1993-94, Paspalum vaginatum spread rapidly in various golf courses in Selangor, Peninsular Malaysia. Generally the grass grows in wetter areas or water logged fairways. Brief information on P. vaginatum is presented under the following headings: identification; agricultural importance of Paspalum species in other countries; spread of P. vaginatum; and control.
