Sabellariids (Annelida: Sedentaria: Sabellariidae) from shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, including three new species
Los Sabellariidae han sido escasamente estudiados en el Golfo de México y Mar Caribe, con 18 especies registradas de 140 especies conocidas en el mundo. Este trabajo tiene como objetivos mejorar el conocimiento de la familia Sabellariidae en la región noroeste del Atlántico tropical, proporcionar descripciones estandarizadas y generar claves de identificación taxonómica. Se revisaron los sabeláridos de tres colecciones científicas: la colección de referencia del Laboratorio de Poliquetos, El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR), Chetumal, la colección del Laboratorio de Biodiversidad y Cambio Climático, ECOSUR, Campeche y la colección de Zoología de Invertebrados del Museo de Historia Natural de Florida, Universidad de Florida, Gainesville. Se describen tres nuevas especies: Idanthyrsus bastidai n. sp. y I. mikeli n. sp. de Venezuela, y Sabellariasalazarin. sp. de la península de Yucatán. Además, se realizan nuevos registros de S. floridensis Hartman, 1944, S. vulgaris Verrill, 1873 y Phragmatopoma caudata Krøyer in Mörch, 1863.
