The Manual of the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) is a guide for Arabica coffee growers in Angola. The agro-ecological coffee sector is in a phase of strong changes in favor of a hegemony of resilience in its context with Good Agricultural Practices, climate change, strong consumer demands for healthy and environmentally-friendly goods, and the responsibility of coffee farmers to sustainably manage of their farms and agro-ecological zones. All this needs new visions involving all the modern advances, which include training with information and communication technologies (ICT). The method of Good Agricultural Practices in coffee contains thirteen key themes and their 50 compartments and is controlled by the traffic light system (TLS). These are: 1) Site selection, plot history, mapping, data recording by plot; and environmental impacts; 2) Seed origin, propagation and nursery practices; 3) Selection of highest quality plants from nurseries; 4) Land clearing and soil conservation; 5) Shade trees, planting methods and planting period; 6) Shade management and plant and fruit density control; 7) Weed Management; 8) Nutrition management; 9) Integrated pest and disease management; 10) Irrigation, intercropping and diversification; 11) Coffee pruning; 12) Harvest management and processing; 13) Corporate Social Responsibility and compliance (CSR): Social and human rights, labor conditions, education and training.
