Native species of bamboo in México

Abstract-The following study presents an updated list of Mexico's native bamboo species; algO mentioned are their geographical distribution and fue endemic species. Eight genera and 35 woody bamboos species, and 3 genera and 4 herbaceous bamboos species have been recognized as being from Mexico. The 39 native Mexican species represent 10% of fue present species in fue Americas. Although they inhabit principally the tropical region of fue country, 13 endemic species are known to be growing in diverse sites in Mexico.
