Sarchimor - promising new arabica hybrid (semi dwarf) :
A selfed generation was established in 1980 at CCRI of the arabica coffee hybrid Sarchimor, originally developed from a cross between Villa Sarchi and Hibrido de Timor and received from Portugal in 1975. Evaluation over the last 19 years has shown that progeny S4202 is vigorous, of dwarf stature and resistant to rust (Hemileia vastatrix), giving an average yield of 1000 kg/ha, with 70-75 percent of beans being grade A.
