Racionalidad en la adopción de MIP de pequeños caficultores en Nicaragua

Some study results related with the factors that facilitate or hamper the adoption and diffusion of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), are shown in this document. Four groups of small coffee growers in Nicaragua were investigated and compared. Differences in IPM adoption rates, were identified and analysed; the attention is focussed on the rationality behind the differential adoption rates. Rationality of producers is considered a relative and changing concept, dependent upon the type of linkages with the outside world, experiences and their vision of future.
