Effect of chlorothalonil and captafol on brown-eye-spot disease

Effect of chlorothalonil and captafol were studied against brown-eye-spot disease. Among the fungicides screened captafol 0.3 per cent a.i. and 0.2 per cent a.i. was superior to the presently recommended Bavistin at 0.05 per cent and other treatments. A good retention of foliage and enhanced growth were recorded in plants treated with captafol at 0.3 per cent. Therefore spraying captafol at 0.3 per cent may be taken up at monthly intervals instead of bavistin 0.05 per cent in coffee nurseries.
