Controle da ferrugem do cafeeiro com produtos a base de Bacillus subtilis :

Metabolites from Bacillus subtilis (isolate AP-3) were produced in glucose 1 percent, pepton 1 percent, yeast extract 0,5 percent, NaCl 0,3 percent, KH2PO4 0,1 percent and MgSO4 0,05 percent (GPL) medium or a foliar fertilizer derived from the glutamic frementation of molasses 5 percent (AMI), under different periods of fermentation. The extracts were obtained by precipitation of metabolites with ammonium sulphate (A) or cloridric (D) at pH 2.0. Twenty four hours before the inoculation of Hemileia vastatrix urediniospores in coffee plants, cv. Catuai, extracts concentrations of 1,000 and 10, 000 ppm were sprayed. The results showed a reduction on (1) the percentage of infected leaves; (2) number of lesions per leaf and (3) number of lesions per infected leaf. The extract GPLA (13) 12 have no systemic action in the ascendant, descendant of the foliar fertilizer derived from the glutamic fermentation of molasses (concentrations of 10, 25, 50 and 100 percent) showed an effective control leaf rust when considered the above parameters.
