Anther and endosperm culture of coffee
Anthers inoculated at microsporogenesis stage (i.e., three days from the receipt of blossom showers) produced profuse callus on a modified M.S. medium supplemented with 0.2 mg/l each of IAA and BAP. However, these calluses failed to respond to further subcultures. On the otherhand, immature endosperm collected from six-month old fruits of robusta coffee produced callus and subsequently turned embryonic on subculturing
