Nemátodos que atacan al café en Guatemala, su distribución, sintomatología y control

Since 1956 the author and collaborators have been concerned with the nematode problem on coffee in Guatemala. Identification work, carried out in recent years, revealed the presence of three species of nematodes involved: Pratylenchus coffeae, Meloidogyne exigua and Xiphinema americanum. The distribution of these nematodes in Guatemala is presented. Sintomatology in established plantations and nurseries is described. Suggestions for control in plantations and the nurseries are given. The exploitation of sources of resistance in the genus Coffea represents and interesting work for the future
