Estudo sobre diferentes patogenicidades de Meloidogyne exigua em cafeeiro no estado de Sao Paulo

In the State of S. Paulo, Brazil, populations of M. exigua show different pathogenicities to Coffea arabica, according to the region they come from. In this paper, two populations are dealt with, collected respectively at Ribeirao Preto and Flórida Paulista. Soil samples from both localities as well as a third type were used to grow coffee seedlings. At the age commonly known as "orelha de onça", seedlings grown in the three soil types were inoculated with populations of M. exigua from the two localities referred to. A less pathogenic form of M. exigua from Ribeirao Preto was not affected by the different soil types. On the other hand, plants infested with a more pathogenic form of M. exigua from Flórida Paulista showed variations in development in the different soil types and an uniform chlorosis on leaves, as compared to other treatments
