Evaluation of suitable methods for the estimation of available sulphur in soils cropped to coffee
A pot culture experiment using soils collected from seven different coffee growing zones was conducted to determine the suitable extractant for the estimation of available sulphur in soils cropped to coffee. Out of twelve extractants used to estimate the available sulphur Ca(H2PO4)2 (500 ppm of P), 0.001 N HCl, CaCl subíndice 2 2H20 (0.15 per cent), 0.5 N NH4AOc + 0.25 NHOAc (pH 5.0) and 1 per cent NaCl besides heat soluble sulphur were found suitable for the estimation of available sulphur
