Colonisation and establishment of leptomastix dactylopii How on an estate in Upper Giris, Chikmagalur
Field releases of the exotic parasitoid, Leptomastix dactylopii How. were carried out on Kathlekhan estate in Chikmagalur Liaison zone during 1984 and 1987 for colonisation and establishment against the mealybug, Planococcus citri. The parasitoid established well in the field and effected 19 to 45 per cent parasitism of mealybug in different months during 1987 and 1988 and spread to the large area of the estate from the sites of releases
