Medical study shows asthma less frequent among coffee drinkers
Summarises the findings of a large scale study in Italy which demonstrated that bronchial asthma was less frequent among coffee drinkers than among non-drinkers. Incidence of asthma was lower among individuals who drank three or more cups per day than among drinkers of two cups per day, and was lower among two-cup drinkers than among those who consumed only one cup per day. The study, by Dr. R. Pagano of the Italian Institute of Statistics et al, was published in the August 1988 issue of Chest, the Journal of the American College of Chest Physicians. (ICO.
