Role of natural enemies in the suppression of the leaf miner Tropicomya sp. (Diptera: Agromyzidae) on coffee
Studies conducted at Kalpetta (Wynad District), for a period of two seasons (1984 and 1985), revealed that natural enemies suppressed nearly 90 of the leaf miner population in the field. The hymenopteran parasites Clostocerus insignis (Eulophidae), Halticoptera sp., Sphegigaster sp. (Pteromalidae) and Opius sp. (Braconidae) parasitised 37.92, 8.58, 2.21 and 0.92 of the leaf miner population respectively and 39.11 of the pupae remained aborted
