Nahrstoff-versorgung von Kaffee-Pflanzungen (Coffea canephora var. Robusta)
Foliar and soil analysis in 51 coffee plantations of the M'Bomou region (Central African Republic) indicated the following: (1) all the plants were deficient in Zn, while 40-50 of the plants were below the critical levels of N, P, Ca and Fe, and 20-30 below those of K and Mg. No deficiencies could be detected as regards S, Mn, Cu and B; (2) the leaves had an abnormal Zn:Cu ratio (1:2.6, against 5:1 normally); (3) results of soil and plant analysis were not significantly correlated; (4) the type of undergrowth (non-leguminous dicotyledonous plants compared with leguminous plant grasses or bare soil) significantly affected the concentration of certain nutrients (Mn, Mg, N and S) in the leaves.
