Effect of micronutrients on coffee (Coffea arabica L.) grown in Latin America
The requirements of micronutrients of the coffee tree is discussed, attention being drawn to the fact that the quantities needed for growth may differ as a function of the variety considered. The concentration of micronutrients both in leaves and berries, however, does not significantly differ from one variety to other. The deficiencies of Boron, Copper and Zinc are most frequently found in Latin America. The only common toxicity is that due to Manganese in acid soils. Ways of correcting deficiencies and Manganese toxicity are presented as well as the increase in yield which may occur as a result
