Amostragem de solos em cacauais do sul da Bahia

This work was carried out in 25 to 40 years old cacao tree plantations, grown in soils Cepec (Alfisol), Itabuna (Alfisol) and Aluvial (Entisol) to determine the number of subsamples needed to constitute a composed sample/ha. At each plantation 288 subsamples were taken from a sample hectare plot for chemical analysis. The sampling sites were established by using the intersections of 9 x 9 meter coordinate systems. Each sample was taken from 0 to 20 and 20 to 40 centimeter layer of soil, and was tested for pH, Ca + Mg, Al, P, and K. The results show that variability of soil property decrease as the number of subsample increase. It was found also that is necessary to take eight subsamples/ha for potassium and aluminum, seven for Ca + Mg and seven or eight for phosphorus.
