Monitoring Ephestia cautella in Brazilian cacao warehouses with natural and synthetic pheromones
A commercial formulation of (Z)-9, (E)-12-tetradecadienyl acetate, the almond moth Ephestia cautella (Walker) sex pheromone, was found to be attractive to males under cacao storage conditions in Bahia, Brazil. However, it was not as attractive as the natural pheromone. There were no statistical differences among the various release rates tested. Baited traps at 6 m were more effective than those at all other placement levels
