Estudo faunístico de coloópteros e hemípteros associados ao cacaueiro no Estado do Pará

The identification of insects of the orders Coleoptera and Hemiptera associated with cacao trees in the Bragantina and Guajarina regions of the State of Pará, Brazil was carried out by determining the faunistic indices of the two regions. Monthly samplings were performed during the period January 1977 to July 1978 using the knockdown technique with 12 per cent BHC. It was concluded that the fauna of the Bragantina region was more numerous and diversified than that of the Guajarina. Antiteuchus sepulcralis (Fabr., 1803) was the most frequent species in Bragantina while Ephyraea sp. was the most common species in Guajarina. The similarity quotient between the two regions was 58,5 per cent. The species most constantly associated with cacao in the Bragantina region were ephyraea sp., Costalimaita ferruginea Fabr., 1801 and Plectrophorus incertus Voss. and in the Guajarina region they were Ephyraea sp. and Macropygium reticulare (Fabr., 1803)
