Resistance of cacao to Phytophthora palmivora

Stem inoculation tests have given significant data on resistance of various cacao clones to P. palmivora. Data will be presented on relative resistance of cacao clones, including Catongo and SCA 6 to several isolates of the fungus. Correlation has generally been good between glasshouse and field tests. Significant differences have been found with various isolates of the pathogen, for example, Catongo is more susceptible to a rubber isolate from Costa Rica than is YF 221
