Proceedings
Three problem areas that could threaten the integrity of the research natural area system are discussed: (1) lack of scientific use; (2) inadequate documentation of the research methods and marking of installations in the field; and (3) inadequate management (stewardship) program. Suggestions are made to remedy these conditions.
