Patrones regionales en la estructura y composición florística de los manglares de la costa pacífica de Costa Rica
Mangrove communities along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica can be separated in three distinctive zones: North, Central and South Pacific. North Pacific communities show lower structural development and fewer species than the others. Maximum structural development is observed in the South Pacific communities and the highest diversity in the Central Pacific. These forests show intermediate characteristics in terms of structure and species composition. Rain and runoff seem to be diversity. Marginal species should be considered as typical components of mangrove communities.
