Prolonged excretion of Toxoplasma gondii in semen of goats
Toxoplasma gondii was demonstrated by mouse inoculation in semen of three of three goats orally inoculated with 10 oocysts of the GT-1 strain of T. gondii. From goats 1 and 3, T. gondii was first detected in semen 7 days after inoculation (DAI) and 12 DAI from goat 2. Excretion continued over a period of 52 days from goat 2. Goat 3 had excreted T. gondii for 5 days when it was killed 14 DAI
