Modelling the benefits and costs of rinderpest control programme in Nigerian nomadic herds
For ease of manipulation to simulate a portion of reality. Complex systems of studies that involve integrating complex economic analysis of disease control programme require models. In this paper, a model is produced to assess the benefits and costs of control programmes in diseases; rinderpest is chosen as a case study. The internal rate of return (IRR) and net present value (NPV) which can aid the policy makers in the choice of the most economical and efficient alternative of a control programme amongst suggested alternatives given. The model allows epidemiological simulation to determine the effects of epidemiological parameters on disease control and herd development
