Antigua and Barbuda. Significant achievements in 2017

The main activities carried out by the Institute in Antigua and Barbuda during 2017 are identified, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening issues such as technical cooperation, beekeeping, sustainability, innovation, technology, governance, solar energy, resilience against climate change, food security and safety, and good manufacturing practices. Likewise, work was done on the use of vermicomposting, on the methods of propagating mini stems of sweet potatoes and cassava, as well as on the baking of bread with sweet potato and cassava-based flours.Finally, assistance was provided in response to the emergency caused by Hurricane Irma; in the control of pests, such as the weevil and improve the production chains of roots and tubers.
