Manejo de cultura para controle de nematoide do cisto da soja e aspectos envolvidos na sua difusao

Creating unfavourable conditions for the development o f the soybean cyst nematode (SCN) is the basis for its control through crop management. Crop rotation is the most efficient control method using non host species of SCN in a sequence of crops planned for a minimun period of three years. Soybean rotation - corn or sorghum, for one or two years, reduces SCN population of 70 to 90, allowing the sowing of even susceptible soybean cultivars. The frequent use of resistant varieties is problematic due to the pressure of selection brought up by the emergence of new races of the nematode. Fertilization accelerates plant growth and thus alters SCN population dynamics. Irrigation techniques, weed control and herbicide treatments can also influence SCN development conditions. (MV)
