An analytical framework for mixed systems research

The objective of this article is to present an analytical framework that, despite lacking the strength of a model of the linear programming or mathematical simulation type, may constitute the first step in the construction of more effective and powerful models. An analytical framework may furthermore play a very important role in integrating an interdisciplinary team. It begins with a description of an input-output analytical framework that operates with a microcomputer spreadsheet program. To illustrate the preparation and use of an analytical framework, a brief case study is presented describing an analytical framework developed by a multidisciplinary team in Dominica. It ends with a general summary of the different advantages of using an analytical framework
