Poda. Poda e desbodra ou manejo de aranha
The agronomic practice of spider management has to do with pruning and planting density, along with root system expansion and renewal, plant longevity and yield. Number of stems per plant and planting density are two variables that offset each other, inasmuch as a higher density calls for heavier pruning, while a higuer number of stems per plant calls for planting at a lower density (in a mature plantation). Ground-level side shoots add rhyzogenous tissue to the spider, enlarge its "body" at ground level, and increase root mass, yield and longevity. Under the new approach, management of these aspects makes it possible to produce 20.000 stems per year per hectare.
