Agricultural engineering in development: tillage for crop production in areas of low rainfall

This publication focuses on tillage alternatives for crop production in low-rainfall areas. It is, therefore, aimed at the major segment of the world's food producers who do not have access to irrigation or who do not farm in areas of adequate rainfall and, very often, use fragile land subject to wind and water erosion and other environmental hazards. It is a reference document, meant to assist scientists and extension workers in developing countries in explaining alternative tillage practices which might be considered as recommendations for farmers under specific local conditions
