Report: sixth meeting of the council of ministrers

The sixth meeting of the council of Ministers of the West African ECA/MULPOC was held in Cotonou, the People’s Republic of Benin from 28-30 March 1983. Given the concrete nature of the projects that the West African MULPOC was now executing, such as production and trade in basic cereals, the role of women in food production, the establishment of a trade and development bank, West African MULPOC was responding better to its mandate of promoting co-operation in West Africa in an operational manner. African Governments to the objective of promoting self-reliance and self-sufficiency had resulted in the creation of many IGOs, of which there are 35 in West Africa.
