[Dataset] Data for the analytical solution to assess the induced seismicity potential of faults in pressurized and depleted reservoirs

This dataset is composed of two folders: one for the programing codes of the analytical solution and another one for the input files of the numerical models for simulating the stress variation due to reservoir pressurization or depletion as well as the assessment of fault stability and induced seismicity potential of faults. The folder “AnalyticalSolutionCode_ASISP” includes all the programing modules in Python that are needed for performing the analytical solution for both permeable and impermeable faults. The three subfolders are automatically generated by Python to build the virtual environment for running the codes. The names of the code files and the description of the programing code are: - “All_Parameters”: includes all the needed parameters for reservoir geometry and rock properties - “L0_Surface_Integral”: includes the surface integral of the Green’s function for stress - “L0_Surface_Integral_FaultPlane”: includes the surface integral of the Green’s function for stress on the special fault plane - “L1_Delta_Pressure_Interval”: describes the sub interval of pore pressure change for different cases - “L1_Stress_D”: includes the dimensionless stress variation in the whole domain - “L1_Stress_D_FaultPlane”: includes the dimensionless stress variation on the special fault plane - “L2_CFS”: includes the equations for Coulomb Failure Stress (CFS) - “L2_Stress_transformation_formula”: includes the stress transformation formula with axes rotation - “main1_ContourPlot”: this is the main program for generating the contour plot of stress changes in the whole domain - “main1_SI”: this is the main program for generating the line diagram of stress changes in specific lines - “main2_CFSPlot this is the main program for generating the CFS plot in different cases - “main3_FSPPlot”: this is the main program for generating the plot of fault slip potential in different cases - “myfigure”: includes all the figure styles applied to generate the above plots - “sigma_imp_CB”: the excel file that includes the results exported from the CODE_BRIGHT (CB) for an impermeable fault - “sigma_per_CB”: the excel file that includes the results exported from the CODE_BRIGHT (CB) for a permeable fault - “NOTES”: includes some notes for running the codes. For running the codes, one should start from the main programing codes. The input files of each numerical simulation are included in the folder “CODE_BRIGHT_InputFiles”. The names of the subfolders and the description of the model are: - “C1_InclinedPermeableFault”: simulation of stress variations caused by pore pressure buildup for an inclined permeable fault due to reservoir pressurization - “C2_InclinedImpermeableFault”: simulation of stress variations caused by pore pressure buildup for an inclined impermeable fault due to reservoir pressurization. Each subfolder includes a file with the name of the folder and ended as “_gen.dat” that contains the input data of the model, including material properties, initial and boundary conditions and the time intervals. There is also a file ended as “_gri.dat” that includes the information on the mesh. The “root.dat” includes the name of the model. To run simulations, just execute the Code_Bright executable “Cb_v9_0_1.exe” in the folder that contains the three input files and the executable.
